Description
Alfred Thompson attested into the Royal Welsh Fusiliers for service during the Great War and served on the Western Front with the 13th Battalion from 1 December 1915. He was killed in action on 7 June 1916 and is buried in Rue-Du-Bacquerot No. 1 Military Cemetery, Laventie, France.
Alfred was born in Tingley, West Yorkshire. He enlisted at Merthr, glam and saw service in the 13th BN landing in France 1-12-15. He was K.I.A. 7-6-16 and is common on the Rue-Du-Bacquert Military cemetery Lavente. His mother lived Treforest, Pontypridd, also entitled to a 14-15 Star.
