Description
He was born in Landport, Portsmouth on 25 August 1843. He attested into the Royal Navy on 2 August 1867, serving in H.M.S. Warrior until July 1870. He was advanced Leading Stoker on 21 January 1876 whilst serving in H.M.S. Devastation shortly before the award of his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal and was later discharged to pension on 16 May 1887.
