Born in Leeds Yorkshire and enlisted age 18 years, 10 months in the Royal Artillery having previous service in the West Yorkshire Militia 31.5.1897 to 6.11.1898. Also awarded Khedives Sudan with Khartoum clasp. Discharged 12.1.1907 (dead).
