Description

3830 Private J.A. Bridgett was returning to town and while crossing the bridge was shot by a sentry from the 18th Hussars. Accidentally wounded dangerously on 23.3.1901, Middleburgh and died of his wounds 27.3.1901.

Note: the casualty roll had initials ‘G.A.’ but the same regimental number, the medal roll page is ‘J.A.’ as per the medal. Also entitled to a South Africa 1901 clasp.
