Description
No 3623 James Tarrant was born in Ballyclough, Mallow, Cork and enlisted 14-03-46, age 17 years 7 months and trade a tailor. He served 21 years 8 months including 13 years 10 months in India. He saw plenty of action in the Punjab and was discharged July 1867 at Sheffield to live in Dublin. 11 Officers killed and 10 wounded, 234 men killed and 266 wounded in the battle of Chilianwala Jan 13th, 1849. Sold with copy of roll page more than 1/2 the page is taken up with casualties.
