Description
Jeremiah Lamey was born in Liverpool and enlisted age 18 in the 57th regiment 3.9.1859. He served in the East Indies for 71 days and then New Zealand for 6 years 6 months. He was discharged 17.3.1874 at Woolwich as unfit for further service. He is confirmed on the roll, and his name is spelt in a couple of different ways. In the 1871 census he is listed as a corporal in the 57th regiment. 349 medals dated 1861-66 to the 57th.
