Description

Boatswains Mate Richard Puckey Born Polperro, Cornwall and attested age 18 2.3.1850 H.M.S. Agincourt Boy 1st Class. Served Archer 1850-1853, Royal George November 1853 – August 1856. Exmouth August 1856 -June 1857 and various other Ships.

Re-attested for a further 10 years’ service September 1857. Discharged 29 September 1867 having served 20 years, 57 days.

H.M.S Galatea visited Australia in 1867-1868 bringing H.R.H Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh and visited Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney (twice) and Brisbane.

He was awarded the Medal 24Jun1870.
