Description
Charles Lowrie was severely wounded in Java 1811
Commissioned into the 69th Foot on the 17th of December 1802, and was promoted Lieutenant on the 14th of July 1804, Captain on the 11th of June 1812, and Major on the 29th of August 1826.
He served in Grenadier Company of the 69th at the capture of Java in 1811 and was severely wounded (shot through the body) during the storming of Fort Cornelis on the 26th of August 1811.
Also entitled to the Naval General Service Medal 1793-1840 with the very rare clasp Otter 18 September 1810.
