Born in Jarrow, Newcastle on Tyne and enlisted 13.2.1882 age 22 years. Served in India 6 years, 331 days including the Hazara 1888 campaign.
Note initial is ‘R’ for Richard on the roll, not ‘William’ the engravers error. ‘Fus’ as usual officially re-engraved.
Home 12.2.1894 and discharged after 12 years’ service. Sold with a good file of research on the various tribes that formed the campaign, maps and further interesting information.
