Scarce 382 clasps awarded to the regiment out of a total of 548 plus 57 to British officers and other ranks. he was also awarded a Kumassi medal & clasp issued 9.7.1902.
This clasp was granted in 1903 for the Munshi Expedition (4th January -19th May 1900) in Northern Nigeria. These expeditions arose from the need to ensure the safe passage for caravans and abolition of the slave trade. This clasp 1900 was the last one to be issued and is scarcer than one thinks particularly to officers and N.C.O.s.
