M.M., L.G. 14.5.1919, France. William was severely wounded by gunshot to the head and admitted to the General Hospital at Rhone 25.4.1917.
A native of Gateshead he is recorded on his casualty form as serving from 4.12.1915 but his short service attestation shows age 26, 24.10.1916 to end of hostilities, trade a tramway fitter. Appears also to have been wounded by shrapnel. Described as killed in action in one entry.
