M.M. L.G. 14.9.1916 for France, most likely a Hohenzollern Redoubt award.
Born St. Georges, Axminster, Devon and enlisted 23.2.1912 at Aldershot age 21 years and a farm labourer at Hawkey near Truro. His father lived in Australia which is where we purchased the group from. He served in France 11.9.1914 and is entitled to a 1914 Star. He spent 3 occasions in prison (140 days) 5.11.1914 to 24.7.1915. Wounded in action 13.4.1917, discharged due to sickness 20.6.1919 age 29 years.
