Charles Patrick George Simmons Born 21st March 1888 (Hertfordshire) Joined 2nd Battalion Hampshire Regiment 1907, B.E.F France August 1914
Fought Mons, Leingy, Ypres and Canal Bank Casualty List 17th May 1915 Wounded (1st Battalion Hampshire Regiment ) Wounded twice in the head. Wounded again (3rd Stripe) gunshot both legs (Nov/Dec 1915)
“Wounded Three times” & “awarded DCM” Portsmouth Evening News 24th December 1915. (the reference to a DCM not gazetted)
Killed in Action Belgium 26th September 1917
Sold with photographs, 4th division BEF Gallantry card 12 June 1915, also dog tag and newspaper cutting.
