He was born at Seaforth, Liverpool in 1894 and moved down to London, taking work with the Metropolitan Railway Company in 1914. He enlisted at Willesden and served in France from 5 September 1915. Latterly serving in Salonica he earned the scarce award of the French Medaille d’Honour and M.I.D. (London Gazette 30 January 1919 and London Gazette 17 March 1920, serving with 32nd Signal Company, Royal Engineers.). Living at Brenthurst Road, Willesden, he returned to work with the Chiswick Bus Overhaul Works and retired in 1959.
Sold with original Mention in Despatches certificate. Certificate for the French award slightly worn with the British enclosure for the Medal. Soldiers Small Book, together with Certificate of Transfer to Reserve. Telegram for Jackson to be given transport whilst serving with 22 Divisional Signal Company, small newspaper cutting and copied research.
